Coventry's Charter Primary School school first in city to self

CHARTER Primary School has become the first in Coventry to self-fund a brand new set of solar panels.

"So now, at different times of the week and different times of the day, we can see exactly how much energy these panels are generating.

There are now up to 10 schools across the city with solar arrays, but while the others have been funded by the local education authority, Charter Primary School is the first to invest in its own panels.

Mr Hardisty said: "We were really keen, in terms of the school and its green credentials, to do our bit for the environment.

"But we were also keen on the idea from a curriculum perspective.

"And cumulatively, over time, it shows us how many kilograms of carbon dioxide we've effectively compensated for.
