$500K spent on Markham arena consultants

More than $500,000 has been spent on consultants associated with the proposed NHL-ready arena, the Economist BILD).

The cost was released to members of council this week after Regional Councillor Joe Li asked during last Thursday's special council meeting how much taxpayers' money has been spent on the proposed arena project. Li confirmed he received a figure, but said yesterday he could not disclose it because it was marked confidential by town CAO Andy Taylor.
