Company's bright idea for solar panels
The firm behind a previously approved plan to build new company premises in Haworth is applying for an amendment to add solar panels to the building. In a statement accompanying the planned amendment, agent for the applicant Jo Steel said the energy generating devices had the potential to provide up to 20 per cent of Airedale Springs' power needs. "It can make a worthwhile contribution to the Council's aspirations to achieve as much locally sustainably generated power as possible. The company now wants to make use of part of the new property's roof by installing solar panels. He added: "The black panels would not be obtrusive when set on the merlin-grey clad roof. The proposed amendment is still being considered but plans for the new two-storey building have already been given permission. |
