Government considers solar panel farms

The Tasmanian Government is considering the possibility of the budget to build solar panel farms to help bring down household power costs. The scheme would allow home owners and tenants to invest in solar panels located on government land and use the energy generated. " "We're in discussions with people with experience of the United States and with Aurora and we're working up a proposal. "At the moment we're just looking at the resources that we have at our disposal. Climate Change Minister Cassy O'Connor says the Government is already in talks with energy retailer Aurora and US-based solar panel manufacturers. " She believes the creation of solar energy farms could enable residents to stop paying power bills. "If you're an individual with more income, you could buy a number of solar panels and basically eliminate your power bills into the foreseeable future.
