MACC's new building needs repair due to flood and mold problem

MALACCA (March 1, 2012): The new Malaysian Anti-Corruption's (MACC) RM29.

The building was first occupied on March 30 last year.

Present was MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamad.

In another development, the minister said the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Bill 2011 would be tabled for second reading and debated at the Dewan Rakyat on April.

Shaziman said the building's defects liability period, which shall end on March 30 this year, had also been extended until all defects were fixed.

"ence, I have asked the three relevant parties - PWD, contractor and consultants - to identify the causes of defects before carrying out the repair works," he told reporters after visiting the building today.

"Although the building is safe for use, it is feared that the flooding and mold problem will eventually take a toll on the building.

"The bill will solve payment issues faced by all quarters in the construction industry, including the main contractor, subcontractor, consultants and providers of construction materials," he said.
